LV124 / LV148 test devices

The devices behind precise
LV124 / LV148 testing.

WKS Informatik builds three specialist devices for LV124 and LV148 electrical testing. Each solves a specific part of the test challenge — and all three are integrated into the RTStand fully automated testing system.

Integration
All three devices are fully integrated in the RTStand LV124 / LV148 automated testing system.

Interruption device

Ultra-fast Interrupter (UFI)

The only interruption device supporting Automotive Ethernet 1000base-T1 and GMSL alongside standard power lines — up to 125A.

Max current up to 125A (UFI 125)
Bus line switches 4 × standard bus lines (CAN, LIN etc.)
Ethernet support Automotive Ethernet 100base-T1 & 1000base-T1
GMSL support Yes
10G Ethernet Yes — new generation UFI
GMSL2 Yes — new generation UFI
Network support 12V, 24V, 48V
Integration integrated in RTStand
  • Performs LV124 / LV148 short interruption tests on power lines and bus lines simultaneously
  • Supports interruption profiles — including feedback measurements during interruption and short-circuit tests
  • Excel import / export for interruption profiles
  • Remote control via RTStand software framework
  • Hardware upgrades available for external control of additional UFI devices

New 2026

New UFI generation adds support for 10G Ethernet and GMSL2 — keeping your setup ready for the next generation of automotive ECU interfaces.

Monitoring & logging device

Tube Analyzer

Up to 96-channel voltage and current logging with 10µs resolution — time-synchronized across all channels for precise, reproducible ECU behaviour analysis.

Voltage channels Up to 96 per device, ±60V range
Current channels Up to ±150A per channel
Time resolution Up to 10µs (100kHz sampling)
Synchronisation Time-synchronized across all channels and devices
Scalability Multiple devices can be daisy-chained
Additional channels Up to 12 extra current channels via add-on
Integration Integrated in RTStand
  • Monitors all power and current channels in parallel during LV124 / LV148 tests
  • Synchronized display of interruption profiles and ECU response — voltage, current on the same time axis
  • Enables detection of sporadic errors earlier in the development phase
  • Additional voltage channel add-on for e.g. external sensors or bus line measurements
  • Calibration services available — DAkkS standard
“This innovative modular concept gives us the opportunity to monitor a high number of pins in parallel, with a high resolution of up to 10µs, as required in the LV124 — allowing us to make a deeper analysis of our products and find sporadic errors earlier in the development phase.”

Signal generation device

RTStand SignalGeneration

Arbitrary waveform generation for LV124 / LV148 power supply pulses — with a library covering over 45 norms and feedback measurements for interruption profiles.

Norm library 45+ norms for 12V, 24V, and 48V networks
Waveform types DC, sine, ramp, square, triangle, chirp, V-sine, arbitrary
UFI control Integrated control of UFI interruption devices
Interruption profiles Configurable — with feedback measurement support
Amplifier support Multiple amplifier devices supported
Import / Export Excel import / export of profiles
Remote control Yes — via RTStand framework
Integration Integrated in RTStand
  • Generates all LV124 / LV148 required power supply disturbance profiles — transient voltages, superimposed voltages, startup voltages, and more
  • Create, edit, or load existing profiles — flexible for new ECU requirements
  • Software upgrade: feedback measurements during interruption and short-circuit tests
  • Software upgrade: support for multiple amplifier devices simultaneously
  • Hardware upgrade: external control of additional UFI devices

Three devices. One complete test setup.

Each device handles a distinct role in the LV124 / LV148 test workflow.

Step 1
SignalGeneration
Generates the power supply disturbance profiles defined by LV124 / LV148 — voltage transients, superimposed signals, startup profiles, and all other required waveforms.
Step 2
UFI
Executes the short interruption tests on power lines, CAN, LIN, and Ethernet / GMSL lines — at the exact timing required by the norm.
Step 3
Tube Analyzer
Monitors and logs all voltage and current channels at 100kHz — time-synchronized with the test execution so you can see exactly how the ECU responded to every disturbance.

From individual devices to full automation.

RTStand is what happens when all three devices are connected to a single automation layer. The software handles everything — test sequencing, ECU configuration, norm selection, and report generation — so your team can focus on the engineering.

  • All three devices pre-integrated and coordinated
  • 47+ norm library, continuously updated
  • 100% automated, 24/7 unattended operation
  • Buy or rent
