WKS Informatik GmbH is a privately owned company founded in 1995 and led by Ronald Kaempf. We are based in Ravensburg, Germany, and have been exclusively focused on LV124 and LV148 automotive testing since 2014.

We build the systems, the devices, and the expertise that make LV124 / LV148 testing structured, automated, and reproducible — for OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and research institutions across Europe, the United States, and Asia.

“It all comes down to solutions. Innovative companies need to reduce testing costs for their components — and I believe this is only achievable through complete, standards-based solutions. That has been our strategic focus from the beginning.”

WKS Informatik was founded in 1995 as a test bench manufacturer and testing solution provider. Over the following decade, we developed deep expertise in automotive electrical testing before making a decisive strategic choice: to focus exclusively on LV124 and LV148.

That focus is what separates us from generalist test solution providers. We have spent almost 15 years years building systems, writing norm libraries, supporting customers through OEM audits, and developing hardware specifically for the challenges that LV124 and LV148 present. Nobody else has done this as long, or as completely.

WKS is privately owned by two partners. That means our decisions are driven by engineering and customer outcomes — not by quarterly targets or external investors. When we commit to a customer, we commit for the long term. Our maintenance contracts, our continuous norm updates, and our direct technical support are not afterthoughts — they are the product.

Three things that are genuinely hard to replicate.

Exclusive focus, since 2014

Every engineer, every product, every decision at WKS is oriented around LV124 and LV148. We do not split attention across multiple domains or standards. This depth is reflected in the norm library, in the hardware design, and in the quality of support — it is impossible to build this kind of knowledge as a side project.

Engineering-led, founder-owned

WKS is privately owned and led by its founders. There is no corporate layer between the people who build RTStand and the people who use it. When a customer needs a custom integration, a new interface, or a fix — they talk directly to engineers who have authority to act. This is why our support is consistently cited as a key reason customers stay with us.

Long-term product commitment

RTStand systems purchased in 2019 are still receiving software updates, new norm integrations, and hardware upgrade paths in 2025. We do not sunset products on a short cycle. Our customers make significant investments — and we treat that investment as a long-term relationship, not a transaction.
